Obama plans to reduce burden on middle-class with tax proposals

As the presidential campaign continues to take hold in America, it might be a good time to make cheap calls to USA.
In an address yesterday (February 13th), current president Barack Obama proposed reduced tax relief for high-earners in an effort to ease the financial burden on middle and lower-income workers.
This forms part of a strategy to reduce the national deficit by around $4 trillion over the next ten years, yet Republican Party representatives argued the reforms are merely a rehashing of previously rejected ideas.
Making the speech at Northern Virginia Community College, Mr Obama said: “This is about making fair choices that benefit not just the people who have done fantastically well over the last few decades but that also benefit the middle class, those fighting to get into the middle class, and the economy as a whole.”
The president added that it was not right for employees like teachers and nurses to pay a higher rate of tax than highflyers raking in as much as $50 million.
Obama’s proposals were blasted by Republican frontrunner Mitt Romney, who believes they would do nothing to reinvigorate the economy.
