Airport security checks 'supported by majority of passengers'

The majority of passengers going through airports support measures in place to protect their security, it is claimed.
Some people occasionally suggest that the security process is "too tough", said James Fremantle, industry affairs manager at the Air Transport Users Council.
However, he added: "We have surprisingly few complaints about the process - about 20 to 39 throughout the whole of last year."
Mr Fremantle also pointed out that it is in passengers' own interests to abide by security processes as best they can, so that their flights are not delayed.

According to G4S Aviation Services, 19 per cent of Britons had items confiscated by airport security in the last five years.
British travellers are said to dispose of £60 million worth of items each year at security check points, including toiletries, deodorant cans and manicure kits.
