Skype pulls Windows Mobile apps

Skype has pulled its Windows Mobile operating system applications off the market, explaining that they did not offer users the best possible experience.
Skype Lite and Skype for Windows Phones are no longer available for download, which is a decision the company claims has not been taken lightly.
In a post on the company's blog it was noted that Skype Lite only works in a small number of countries, with it usually being required to use the service as part of a mobile network's allocation of minutes.
This means that it may not be as cost-effective as a cheap international call made by another means.
"With the latest version of the Windows Mobile OS, it's been increasingly challenging for us to maintain an app which behaves as you'd expect on a wide range of handsets without working with a mobile operator partner," the company added.
The announcement comes after Skype launched its new partnership with Verizon, which will deliver free Skype-to-Skype calls in the US and internationally to its 91 million subscribers.
