Cheap calls to India: Celebrate the special sibling bond

Brothers and sisters all over the world will be making cheap international calls after the Indian festival that celebrates the special bond shared by siblings.
Rakshabandhan, or the bond of protection, is celebrated in almost Indian households in modern India.
It entails sisters tying a silk thread around the wrist of their brothers, who in turn vow to protect them.
Traditional sweets, money and gifts are then exchanged during the festival that is keenly awaited by most siblings in the subcontinent.
Political big-wigs also added a touch of glamour to this unique Indian festival with president Pratibha Patil celebrating the day with schoolchildren at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
The Indian prime minister, Manmohan Singh also met children at his official residence to mark the special occasion.
India is also absorbed in celebrating the colourful Ganesh Chathurti, while environmental boards are contemplating a special tax to help facilitate a speedy clean-up after the idol emersions.
