Pakistan have convincingly beaten New Zealand in a Twenty20 cricket international.
Imran Nazir scored a half-century along the way as Pakistan ran out comfortable winners by 49 runs at the first of two internationals in Dubai.
Pakistan finished with a total of 161 for eight, while New Zealand could only manage a score of 112 in 18.3 overs.
However, New Zealand may take some kind of encouragement for the next match, as Pakistan's batsmen suffered something of a collapse, slipping from 92 for two to 116-5 as the Kiwi bowlers appeared to get the measure of their opponents.
In addition, the New Zealanders may be buoyed by the recent reports of internal strife in the Pakistan cricket squad.
Former captain Younis Khan claimed that there have been disagreements among senior players, but Pakistan Cricket Board president Ejaz Butt has dismissed suggestions of such disharmony in the ranks.
