International calls: Mobile calls set to go HD

Telecommunications company Orange has announced it will trial high definition (HD) mobile calls throughout the UK.
Initial trials will begin imminently and the nationwide roll-out is scheduled for late this year, with the aim to deliver superior sound quality to mobile users.
Orange said that the launch of Mobile HD Voice, as the scheme is known, follows two years of considerable investment in the Orange mobile network.
The latest plans may make interesting reading for anyone who regularly uses their mobile phones to make cheap calls.
"This is great news for both the consumer and the business sectors," said Thomas Newton, staff writer for Recombu.com.
Pointing out that it is annoying for people when they have to repeat themselves during mobile calls, Mr Newton added: "At the end of the day, people still want their phones to be phones."
