Atleast 12 dead in Polish freeze

It may be the right time for cheap calls to Poland as plunging temperatures pose threats to the nation’s most vulnerable citizens.
At least 12 people have died across Poland since Friday (January 27th) as the nation’s thermometers fell as low as -27 Celsius.
The Interior Ministry has called on Poles to show a neighbourly disposition by checking in with vulnerable relatives and friends to ensure they are keeping cosy in the freezing temperatures.
It urged citizens to pay particular attention to the elderly and the homeless as they were most likely to be affected by hypothermia and other cold-related illnesses.
The worst hit area to date has been Stuposiany in the Biesczady Mountains where temperatures as low as -27 Celsius were recorded this morning.
Weather forecasters have suggested the wintry conditions are yet to abate as the temperature could reach as low as -30 at night.
Plummeting temperature gauges have been witnessed across surrounding countries, with the Ukraine losing 18 people to hypothermia in just three days last week.
