Cheap calls: South African resort nominated for international accolade

A resort in South Africa has been nominated for a top international tourism award.
Legend Golf & Safari Resort, situated in the heart of the African bush, is one of three final contenders for the prize of South Africa's "Best Development" in the Overseas Living Luxury Lifestyle Awards.
Votes are being cast by readers of Overseas Living magazine and industry insiders, with the resort at the Entabeni Safari Conservancy in Limpopo hopeful that it will walk away with the honour.
"In these challenging economic times it's great to face the new year safe in the knowledge that we must be doing something right," said Peet Cilliers, chief executive officer of Legend Lodges, Hotels and Resorts.
The Legend Golf & Safari Resort is home to 100 five-star suites, a swimming pool, a cultural centre and an 18-hole golf course that was designed by top golfers.
Meanwhile, Nigel Thompson has exclaimed in the Daily Mirror that South Africa is set to be the world's hottest travel destination as it hosts the football World Cup this year.
