South Africa's assistant coach is hoping that his team is not drawn in a group alongside Spain or Brazil in the World Cup draw, it is reported.
Fatai Amoo also revealed in an interview with 234next.com that he is eager for South Africa to put in a memorable performance as hosts of the tournament – or even go all the way.
"It's a tall order no doubt, but it is not unachievable if we put our minds to it and work hard," he remarked.
He pointed out that avoiding the big guns such as Brazil and Spain, at least in the early stages, would give a major boost to the squad's chances of success.
However, he sounded a note of determination as he suggested that "the so-called difficult team can also be defeated".
Meanwhile, football supporters based in the UK have been urged by travel firm DialAFlight to book their journeys and accommodation well in advance to ensure they do not miss out on the action.
