South Africa to play in Pakistan flood Twenty20 fundraiser

South Africa and Pakistan cricket teams are set to play a charity Twenty20 international to raise money for flood victims in Pakistan.
The tour of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will undoubtedly attract much international interest, while the prospect of further donations to the Pakistan disaster cause will undoubtedly prompt international calls from the UK to Pakistani family members concerning the good news.
Cricket South Africa's Gerald Majola explained: "Social responsibility plays an important role in the brotherhood of sport that brings nations together from across the world.
"This is only a small contribution but we hope it will play some part in alleviating the suffering of the Pakistani people."
So far, the UK has been one of the biggest contributors to the disaster, pledging more than £29 million.
Meanwhile, floods linked to the recent monsoon rains have begun to affect other Asian regions.
Ladakh in northern India joined the list of flood-affected areas earlier this week, with official estimates suggesting that 189 people have died so far.
