South African sportsman charged with murder

South Africa's rugby player Bees Roux has been slapped with the charges of killing a policeman.
Twenty eight-year-old Roux is a Blue Bulls player who has also played for the champion Bulls and has been accused of beating Sgt Ntshimane Mogale to death.
The player at the heart of the high profile case that has taken Pretoria by storm, has been released on bail after paying 100,000 rand (£8,912).
If Roux's version of the story is to be believed, he was only acting in self-defence. His actions were taken only as means of self-preservation as an attempt was made to steal his car.
The incident wreaks of racial tension and expats with families in the region could make cheap international calls in order to check on the well being of their loved ones.
Speaking to the Star newspaper, the coach of the national squad Peter de Villiers said: "The team supports him [Roux] 100 per cent, not on the deed but rather on the circumstances that led to the situation developing."
