Shorter honeymoons will become more popular in 2010, an expert believes.
And the likes of Mauritius and the Maldives are expected to see a resurgence in popularity for holidaymakers, according to Rachel Southwood, director at Wedding Ideas magazine.
She explained: "The 'minimoon' - a short break after the wedding to save work holiday and money - is going to increase in popularity further still and, as a result, people will have more to invest in their holiday of a lifetime."
Meanwhile, more brides than ever are shopping around for their weddings in order to beat the recession, according to findings published in September by You & Your Wedding magazine.
However, more than one in three brides (37 per cent) are prepared to go over budget for their wedding, indicating that they aren't concerned if their big day leaves them with a big bill.
Couples hoping to get married abroad may wish to use the benefit of Planet Talk to make cheap international calls as they plan their big day.
