Dubai exhibition charts 3,000 years of history

A major new exhibition has opened in Dubai that looks back at 3,000 years of history and civilisation.
The Heritage Collections (Banader Al Turath) Exhibition was officially opened by H H Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum at The Walk Jumeirah Beach Residence in Dubai Marina.
It runs until February 28th and is open to the public from 17:00 until 22:00 (local time) each day.
The event has been organised by the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) as part of its participation in the 15th edition of the Dubai Shopping Festival.
Visitors to will be able to view exhibits collected from at least five sites in the emirate, including the archaeological site of Sarouq Al Hadeed, which was discovered by Sheikh Al Maktoum, vice-president and prime minister of the United Arab Emirates and ruler of Dubai.
Italian nationals may be among the international visitors to the exhibition, after the airline Emirates launched additional daily services between Dubai and Rome at the start of this month.
