Windows Phone 7 offers 'new kind of mobile experience'

Mobile phone customers will soon be able to make a cheap international call and complete communications on devices featuring the new Windows Phone 7 platform.
The mobile operating system, unveiled by Microsoft chief executive Steve Ballmer at the Mobile World Congress last week, has been designed to improve mobile user's access to web applications.
Phones will be available for purchase later this year, with Microsoft mobile phone partners busy building devices around the new platform.
Xbox Live games and Zune music will be brought to the fore on Windows Phone 7 for the first time, which Mr Ballmer is hopeful will provide users with "a different kind of mobile experience".
He said: "Windows Phone 7 Series marks a turning point toward phones that truly reflect the speed of people's lives and their need to connect to other people and all kinds of seamless experiences."
Last week, senior vice-president of Microsoft's Mobile Communication Business Andy Lees underlined the importance of mobile phones adapting to meet emerging user demands, such as supporting cheap international calls and internet access.
