India vanquishes Sri Lanka

India came out victorious at the end of its clash against neighbouring Sri Lanka in the tri-series match at Dambulla, giving fans plenty of reason to make cheap international calls as they rejoiced.
Even after losing wickets early on in the innings, the men in blue came out fighting with Virendra Sehwag digging in his heels to give India a solid 99 runs. His partnership with Mahendra Singh Dhoni yielded 88 runs and awarded his side a six-wicket victory over the Sri Lankans.
However, the match hit a controversial note when a no-ball stopped Sehwag from a smashing ton in the series. The batsman made his disappointment known as this was the second time that he had narrowly missed out on a 100 against the Asian rivals.
Off-spinner Suraj Randiv, who was at the heart of the controversy, was later reported to have personally apologised to Sehwag for the delivery, according to the Press Association.
