Pen and paper 'appease kids when travelling'

Bored children can make travelling a nightmare for families heading to destinations such as Ghana, even prompting cheap international calls no doubt.
Cathy Ranson, editor-in-chief of Netmums, claims that the solution to this boredom does not necessarily have to be expensive.
She said that just investing in a simple pen and notebook for each child can ease the hassle of the journey, with young children enjoying drawing around their hand or colouring things in and older kids playing noughts and crosses or hangman."
"A blank piece of paper, a little imagination and some prompts from you and it can be many toys in one," said the expert.
This comes after research by Gatwick Airport revealed that almost one in three families find disturbing other holidaymakers one of the most stressful parts of a trip abroad.
In addition, one in five parents travelling with kids deliberately avoided busy areas at airports in order to avoid doing so.
