Saudi Arabia king 'relaxed' after surgery

Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah appeared to have recovered well after making a return to TV screens after his recent surgery.
In what is sure to encourage cheap international calls, King Abdullah appeared on state television after undergoing back surgery on Monday.
The octogenarian leader had surgery to tighten the ligament around a vertebra, in what was his third operation in less than a year, after travelling to the USA for specialist treatment.
It has been reported that the surgery was a success and King Abdullah appeared jovial and relaxed while talking to other leading figures on the show.
The ruler of the kingdom is responsible for making appointments and is chair of the cabinet, however, he requires a consensus among ruling family members and top Saudia Arabian clerics before making any big changes.
