South Africa criminal escapes court on crutches

A wanted criminal in South Africa managed to escape from court, despite being injured and dependant on crutches, potentially sparking a number of cheap international calls.
Gang leader Bongani Moyo was to stand trial for his alleged part in some 35 bank robberies in South Africa.
The Zimbabwean was subject to a high profile manhunt by police earlier this year, before being arrested in May. He then escaped from prison before being rearrested.
In his most recent escape, Moyo simply walked out of court with his crutches, alongside members of the public.
According to Reuters news agency, prisons department spokesman Phumlani Ximiya said: "He was picked up by the police so he could go to court, and escaped under the nose of the police.
"We warned the police that this person had escaped before and therefore they should tighten their security."
In other news, a man who spilt whisky in the direction of South African president Jacob Zuma has been found guilty of assault, despite protesting that the spillage was an accident.
