South Africa manufactures 'first African military plane'

Two South African arms companies have claimed to have created the first every all-African made military plane, a development which may prompt cheap international calls from the UK.
Johannesburg-based Paramount Group and Aerosud Holdings unveiled the Ahrlac today, a lightweight aircraft which can be used for peacekeeping missions but is also armed to defend itself if required.
Speaking to reporters, managing director of Aerosud Paul Potgieter claimed that "there's nothing like it in the marketplace" and revealed that the companies had already agreed to fulfil a ten-strong order for an undisclosed country.
Representatives argued that the compact Ahrlac plane merges the capabilities of an attack helicopter, a drone and a surveillance aircraft and will be a very useful and unique addition to the military market.
