Sri Lankan cricketers 'unpaid for months'

About 100 Sri Lankan cricketers have not been paid their salaries for month - news which is sure to spark cheap international calls.
Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has confirmed that the players have not been paid since Sri Lanka co-hosted the World Cup together with India and Bangladesh in April 2011.
The lack of wages has been blamed on the amount of spending made on the World Cup, which subsequently left the country's richest sports body with sizeable debts.
It is also believed that SLC is still owed remaining payments of between £2.5 million and £3.1m from the International Cricket Council for hosting the major event.
Officials have claimed that they hope to have resolved the issues before the end of the year.
