Cheap calls to Nigeria: World Cup squad is named

The Nigeria players who will be travelling to the World Cup and making cheap international calls from South Africa have been unveiled after coach Lars Lagerback revealed his 23-man squad.
There are some familiar names in the squad, including star man John Obi Mikel, who plays for Chelsea, Yakubu and Joseph Yobo, who both play for Everton, and Bolton Wanderers man Daniel Shittu.
Lagerback watched his side be held to a draw by Colombia at the weekend but is confident that they can improve in time for the first game against Diego Maradona's Argentina on June 12th, which will also feature the world's best player Lionel Messi.
The big surprise is that the coach dropped Victor Anchibe, also an Everton player, who played a key role in helping the Super Eagles win a silver medal at the 2008 Olympics.
Last week, Nigerian players were urged by President Goodluck Jonathan to make their country proud and make international calls home after winning the World Cup trophy on July 11th.
