Vodafone has relaunched a femtocell product, which provides users with an improved 3G reception on their mobile broadband.
The relaunched and rebranded product is known as the Sure Signal and it extends existing 3G coverage by plugging into the local broadband network.
Recent research by Vodafone UK has highlighted the importance of indoor mobile phone coverage, with one in five Brits saying they have missed an important event or occasion because of a lack of signal.
One in 50 would even consider moving house for better indoor coverage.
Commenting on the development, Simon Saunders, chairman of the Femto Forum, said: "Femtocells have been causing a major stir in the telecoms industry as they represent a major new opportunity for economically delivering increased mobile broadband coverage and data speeds."
The news may be of interest to people in the UK who regularly use their mobile phones to make cheap international calls as well as access the internet and carry out a range of other tasks.
