News brought to you by Planet Talk - cheap international calls from home, mobile or any phone.
Men from Manchester spend more time on mobile phones talking to their mothers than men from any other area of the country, according to new research.
Northern males in general spend more time on the phone to their mums than those living in the south, according to the poll conducted by rightmobilephone.co.uk.
It revealed that 58 per cent of the time that Manchester men use their mobiles is spent talking to their mothers.
Men from Leeds are next on the list at 54 per cent, followed by Newcastle chaps at 52 per cent.
Male Glaswegians spend the least amount of time on their mobile phones talking to their mums at just four per cent of call time, followed by Luton and Coventry men at five per cent each.
The findings may mean that certain men could save money by switching to a service such as Planet Talk that offers cheap calls from mobile phones.
Meanwhile, Conrad Longmore, editor of Mobile Gazette, has said that mobile phones will become even more sophisticated this year, with mid-market handsets offering features that were only previously available on high-end devices.
