A new international flight between the USA and Jamaica has been launched by JetBlue Airways.
The service connects Boston with Montego Bay and will operate on Saturdays throughout the year, the airline announced.
In addition, from May 5th until September 1st, JetBlue will operate a second weekly flight, on Wednesdays, between Boston and Montego Bay for the summer.
"This new service links two important parts of JetBlue's route map - Boston and the Caribbean," commented Scott Laurence, JetBlue's vice-president of network planning.
Jamaica's director of tourism John Lynch has welcomed the launch, adding that the Caribbean island represents the "perfect winter rescue" at just four hours away.
JetBlue was set up in 1999 by David Neeleman and its inaugural flight from JFK Airport to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, took to the skies on February 11th 2000.
