Cheap international calls: Poland migration claims disputed

A recent claim that around half of the UK's Polish immigrants had returned to Poland has now been disputed by an expert.
Professor Krystyna Iglicka, of Warsaw's Centre for International Affairs, has queried the suggestion from the Migration Policy Institute that at least 750,000 Polish nationals who arrived in the UK since 2004 have now left the country, the BBC reports.
According to her estimates, around a million Polish migrants are still residing in the UK.
Official estimates regarding the number of Poles working abroad increased consistently until 2008, when they fell only very slightly, the professor told Radio 4's Today programme.
The Migration Policy Institute is a non-profit thinktank based in Washington DC that analyses the movement of people worldwide.
It also evaluates migration and refugee policies at the local, national and international levels.
