International calls: Don't forget travel insurance

As people head on holiday or journey home this Christmas the importance of having travel insurance has been highlighted.
By taking out a suitable policy, anyone who runs into difficulties on their travels will ensure their international phone calls to friends and families are not cries for help.
"Have a comfortable level of insurance against delays, lost baggage, the collapse of firms, an accident - just make sure that you are protected against any eventuality," explained Simon McNamara, director of industry affairs for the European Regions Airline Association.
His comments follow days of disruption as Eurotunnel and Eurostar services were suspended, leaving thousands of passengers stranded in the snow.
Even more people are facing problems after the collapse of Scottish airline Flygloespan.
These events highlight the need to have a comprehensive travel insurance policy in place, as well as the benefits of being able to make cheap international calls.
