Teens warned over sending personal pictures to friends

Young people need to be aware of the risks of posting pictures of themselves on the internet, it has been claimed.
Teenagers have been recognised as being at risk of having inappropriate pictures sent via mobile phone put onto the internet, according to the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre (CEOP).
A spokesperson for the centre underlined the importance informing students and other teenagers about the danger of images being copied, shared and used elsewhere.
The spokesperson said: "As part of our education programme we talk about thinking before you post, thinking about what images you are posting on the internet.
"It might not just be people that you know who see these images."
The spokesperson's comments follow the publication of a review commissioned by the Home Office, which recommends that the government launch an online 'one-stop-shop' where members of the public can voice their concerns about irresponsible marketing that sexualises children.
