Cheap mobile calls to Sudan: New technology has 'transformed' mobile advertising

The onset of new mobile technologies has effectively transformed the advertising sector, it is believed.
Outdoor advertising has become increasingly interactive and has introduced "new levels of communication and engagement", said Rob Atkinson, managing director at Clear Channel Outdoor.
It means that advertisers are able to deliver content such as vouchers or directions to shops to individual mobile phones, added Mr Atkinson, speaking at the Westminster Media Forum Keynote Seminar: The Future of Advertising.
"The direct response that mobile facilitates in turn helps advertising become more accountable," he explained.
Mr Atkinson's comments may be of interest to Planet Talk Card customers, who regularly use their mobile phones to make cheap international calls to Sudan and a number of other countries around the world.
Meanwhile, principal analyst at Juniper Research Windsor Holden has said that Apple's new iPhone has had a "remarkable" impact on the smartphones market in the way it has gained popular appeal beyond the business sector.
