San Francisco is a fantastic destination for a romantic break on Valentine's Day, it is claimed.
There is a huge range of entertainment and excellent restaurants throughout the city to make for an extra special visit, according to the San Francisco Convention and Visitors Bureau.
The city is said to be ideal for lovers who are "in their honeymoon stage or seasoned couples who want to add pizzazz to their relationship".
It adds: "Even if someone has yet to find their soulmate, he or she can watch animals in love at the zoo and still enjoy the holiday."
New York has also been tipped as a great city for a romantic getaway over Valentine's Day weekend.
Ice-skating at the Rockefeller Centre or taking in the views from the Empire State Building are just two of the many iconic visitor attractions in New York, according to the city's official marketing, tourism and partnership organisation NYC & Company.
