Murray begins US open with a win

British tennis fans had plenty of reasons to rejoice and make cheap international calls as Andrew Murray drew first blood at the US open.
Murray secured his win over Slovakian Lukas Lacko despite soaring temperatures in the USA. The grand slam match took place at Flushing Meadows in New York.
Putting up a grand show for sports fans, Murray beat Lacko in straight sets - 6-3 6-2 6-2, in a match that lasted barely two hours.
The tennis champ was in high spirits after the match but acknowledged the difficult weather conditions.
He said: "Everyone in my box always tells me it's a lot tougher watching in the heat than playing but I'm not so sure. They were brutal conditions."
The Scot is preparing to face Dustin Brown from Jamaica in the next stage of the tennis grand slam.
