Britain to end military operations in Afghanistan by 2015

A timeline has been set to pull out British troops from Afghanistan as it was announced that combat operations in the region will end by 2015.
The declaration was made by British deputy prime minster Nick Clegg on his visit to Camp Bastion in the Helmand province.
Mr Clegg was amazed by the transformation undergone by the country since his last visit to the region two years ago.
He said: "We have been very clear, we have put a full stop at the end of our engagement.
"By 2015 there will not be any British combat troops in Afghanistan."
The deputy premier hailed the effort made by the British armed forces to reduce poppy cultivation as well as prompting more Taliban fighters to surrender their weapons.
He even called on the Taliban leaders to come forward and be part of the political future of Afghanistan.
