Mobile customers 'loyal to phone brands'

Mobile phone customers are likely to stick to a single brand of phones, finds a new survey.
The poll, carried out by Right Mobile Phone, found that 32 per cent of the respondents buy handsets from the same manufacturer when their old one needs replacing.
Twenty five per cent of the participants were also likely to continue with their present network provider, perhaps even if cheap international calls were available on another network, the study suggested.
It was also observed that 11 per cent of the people polled were "too lazy" to research for new phones and better connections.
Neil McHugh, co-founder of rightmobilephone.co.uk, said: "Once you get used to how a certain brand of phone works, such as the layout of the menu or the different functions the handset offers, it's quite common not to want to get a new handset and learn how it works all over again."
He added that a stable network connection was important for retaining customers.
The survey does not spell good news for new phones like the Blackberry Pearl 3G and Google Nexus One.
