Foreigners studying in Australia get new accommodation

Students keen to move overseas to study in Australia are set to benefit from new on-campus accommodation at Monash University.
The new facilities have been constructed specifically to house 1,700 foreign students in their first year of study, reports AAP.
This is likely to give those students moving from abroad one less thing to think about on what may be their first foray away from home, providing them with a safe base from which to make their first cheap calls back to their parents.
Speaking to the news agency following the announcement, the university's professor Paul Komesaroff said: "One of the principal actions that is readily available to the university is to provide them accommodation on campus.
"The idea is to build units for 1,700 students to spend at least one year of their term in Australia on campus."
In the UK, students studying away from home can take advantage of a number of assistance options, including applying for finance under the Residential Support Scheme.
Some colleges also offer residential bursaries for certain courses.
