Vegemite changes name to Australia in commemorate edition

Vegemite has taken the decision to change its name to Australia to help commemorate Australia Day.
Cheap calls to Australia are likely to follow this news as the iconic brand looks to celebrate its 89th year and its national heritage with a map of the country replacing its red diamond logo.
"Changing Vegemite's name to Australia for a limited time in the lead up to Australia Day is our way of showing some contemporary Australian pride," claimed Jenny Nolch, Vegemite marketing director.
As part of the January 26th celebrations Vegemite will also feature ten everyday Australians on the front of its jars, in a bid to highlight the extraordinary achievements of residents.
People chosen to appear on the jars include the Under-19 women's lacrosse team, wheelchair tennis star Ben Weekes and the Australian Sudoku team.
