Cheap international calls could provide a way to stay happy for those living abroad. The cheap calls could allow people who live away from their families to engage in longer and more meaningful conversations, that are a key to happiness, according to some recent research. Findings from psychological scientists from the University of Arizona and Washington University in St Louis reveal that happy and unhappy people regularly engage in different types of conversations. Using specially-designed recording devices to capture conversations the research team analysed the data gained, finding that the happiest people took 70 per cent more time talking than the unhappy participants. The subjects of the study who proved the happiest were also those who took part in the more meaningful conversations. Previous research has revealed that a given person's own state of mind very much depends on the happiness of the people around them and those they are connected to.
