Grenade attack wounds 18 civilians in Afghanistan

A grenade attack is sure to prompt cheap calls to Afghanistan after it wounded 18 civilians and two policemen.
Grenades were thrown at a police vehicle in eastern Afghanistan on Sunday December 18th, according to official reports.
While grenades are an uncommon weapon in Afghanistan, this was the second time in less than two days in which police have been targeted by these hand-held weapons.
Provincial police spokesman from Khost, Mir Akbar Mangal, told AFP that "no one has been killed", and a total of 11 suspects have been arrested in conjunction with the attack.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack, however the earlier grenade incident in Kabul has been linked to the Taliban.
The first attack failed to injure anyone after a man lobbed at least one grenade into a district police station in the west side of the capital.
