'Slutwalk' movement reaches India

The feminist 'Slutwalk' movement has reached India, with one of the controversial protests taking place in Delhi, no doubt sparking many cheap international calls.
Hundreds of participants took part in the march, which was designed to combat the idea that the way a woman chooses to look or dress invites sexual abuse.
In many of the 'Slutwalks' which have taken place around the world, protesters donned skimpy clothing to make the point that they are free to wear what they wish.
However, this style of dressing was notably absent from the Indian version of the event.
The movement began earlier this year in Canada after a policeman in Toronto said that women should lessen their chance of being raped by avoiding dressing like "sluts".
Founders explained that the use of the term "slut", which has traditionally negative connotations, was intended to redeem the word.
