Nigeria secret police claim Abuja bomb al Qaeda link

Nigeria's security service has claimed that the man they expect was behind last week's bombing of the UN building in Abuja has links to al Qaeda.
Officials named Mamman Nur, member of the radical group Boko Haram, as the suspected organiser of the attacks, which killed 23 people and injured at least 80 others.
Two other people have been arrested in connection with the attack, with cheap international calls between family and friends interested in the outcome of the investigation likely to be concerned that the attack was not able to be averted.
A statement from the Nigerian secret police noted: "Investigation has revealed that one Mamman Nur, a notorious Boko Haram element with al-Qaeda links who returned recently from Somalia, working in concert with the two (arrested) suspects masterminded the attack on the United Nations building in Abuja."
On Friday, a suicide bomber managed to ram a car through two sets of gates and detonate explosives in the building's glass reception hall.
