Poland invests in security for Euros

Poland has revealed the extent of its security measures in preparation for next year's European football tournament.
Specialist commandos have been simulating multiple hostage situations and terrorist attacks in case criminals choose to target the second largest international footballing competition.
Around 800,000 football fans are expected to visit the four host cities in the Ukraine and Poland, according to Polish prime minister Donald Tusk, therefore they must be made to feel secure.
Polish police spokesman Mariusz Sokolowski told Reuters that lots of money is being invested in the Euro 2012 security, which will go towards 600 new vans, as well as helmets, epaulets, shields and other police equipment.
Sokolowski explained that these purchases were necessary but added "let's just hope they won't have to be used".
