Polish student sneaks art work into gallery

An art student from Poland is sure to spark cheap international calls after he took matters into his own hands and hung one of his own paintings in a major Polish gallery.
Young artists Andrzej Sobiepan snuck into the National Museum in the south-western city of Wroclaw and hung his painting, which remained in full public view for three days until staff made the discovery.
In an interview with national TV station TVN24, Sobiepan told reporters that he wanted the art industry to be more accepting of young talent.
"I decided that I will not wait for 30 or 40 years for my works to appear at a place like this. I want to benefit from them in the here and now," he said.
Museum director Mariusz Hermansdorder also told the channel: "It has shown that they young generations of artists, unlike their predecessors, want to see their work in museums."
The National Museum has taken the decision to keep the small green and white painting on display in its cafe.
This latest art stunt is reminiscent of British graffiti artist Banksy, whom Sobiepan claims was his inspiration.
