Turmoil in Nigerian Football Federation

The umbrella body of worldwide football, Fifa, has threatened to oust Nigeria from international tournaments if the president does not retract his ban of the national squad.
Nigeria's inability to proceed in the World Cup earned the entire team a two-year ban, imposed by president Goodluck Jonathan.
The move means that the Super Eagles will not be able to participate in any international football events including those backed by Fifa and the Confederation of African Football.
Special adviser to the president, Ima Niboro, said: "President Goodluck Jonathan has directed that Nigeria withdraws from international competition for two years to enable the country to put its house in order."
However, Fifa statutes dictate that countries must allow national football federations to function with no political intervention.
In light of this, Fifa has issued a warning to Nigeria asking the government to withdraw the ban or face expulsion from international sporting events.
