International calls: Ethnic minorities 'face employment obstacles'

News brought to you by Planet Talk the cheapest rates for international calls.
Members of ethnic minority groups in the UK may find it more difficult than white people to obtain employment, a new study suggests.
Just 56.3 per cent of black and minority ethnic (BAME) students who graduated in 2007-08 found work within a year, compared to 66 per cent of white students, according to the report published by the Race for Opportunity campaign.
However, the study found that ethnic minorities are better represented at universities than their share of the general population.
Researchers revealed that 16 per cent of UK university students are from a BAME background, up from 8.3 per cent in 1995-96.
Dr Rob Berkeley, director of the Runnymede Trust, has welcomed the report.
He said: "It is not enough for widening participation initiatives to focus only on class; there is still a great deal to do to ensure that black and Asian students have equal access to all our universities."
