Pakistan army warns PM over criticisms

The frequency of cheap calls to Pakistan could be set to rise after the Pakistani army warned the country's prime minister over criticisms. Yousuf Raza Gilani has been told by the Pakistan military that there could be "serious ramifications with potentially grievous consequences" after he criticised military leadership in a recent interview. Gilani was quoted by China's People Daily Online claiming that the national army chief and head of intelligence had acted against the constitution by submitting to a Supreme Court inquiry. The Pakistani military responded to these claims in a statement, which read: "There can be no allegation more serious than what the honourable prime minister has levelled." Pakistan and its military have been the topic of many public disputes in the country's history, with the army having ruled for more than half of this time. The latest conflicts between the government and the military have sparked fears that the army could be taking another step towards confronting the ruling party. © Copyright Use Planet Talk to call Poland with the cheapest rates to landlines and mobile
