HTC Desire set to receive Android update

Mobile phone users in Europe who use their HTC desire handsets to make cheap international calls are gearing up to receive the latest Android update.
The Taiwanese mobile manufacturer has announced that its phones will be receiving the Android 2.2 software over the weekend.
Accompanying the updated version of the operating system called Froyo, the phone-makers will also be providing customers with a host of new features as part of the new HTC Sense platform.
An official statement release by the company read: "The update will provide 720p video capture, HTC's App Share widget, as well as our enhanced HTC Caller ID, and improved multi-language keyboard.
"Also, through the update, HTC Sync will allow HTC Desire users to sync their music with iTunes."
The company has also confirmed that users of the HTC EVO 4G phone will be receiving the software update on August 3rd.
