South Africa World Cup 'will drive HD Freeview sales'

Many football fans are expected to purchase new high-definition (HD) Freeview television set-top boxes before the football World Cup in South Africa kicks off.
Humax has announced that it is launching the HD-FOX T2, which is the first Freeview HD box on the market.
The high-definition channels available through Freeview HD are BBC, ITV and, in the near future, Channel 4 and S4C Wales, while the HD-FOX T2 box also comes with a USB port that enables users to plug in their own content.
"Up to the World Cup, expect to see a major marketing and commercial push on Freeview HD products and services," said Andrew Laughlin, a technology and gaming reporter at Digital Spy.
He pointed out that there appears to be plenty of consumer demand for HD products, with the subscriber base of Sky+ HD recently passing the two million mark and Freesat topping 750,000 unit sales last year.
