Cheryl Cole visits troops in Afghanistan

Cheryl Cole has flown over to Afghanistan to visit British troops, a trip which is sure to give a lot of soldiers a reason to make cheap international calls home.
The singer arrived at Camp Balston in Helmand Province this week, where she will be filming a special tribute video for The Mirror's Pride of Britain Awards.
A source told the newspaper: "Cheryl is amazed by the courage of all those serving our country.
"When she was invited to go out and see them in Afghanistan, she immediately said yes … they deserve all the recognition they get."
Soldiers have praised the Geordie girl for supporting the troops abroad and have claimed that it will definitely cheer them up.
Cheryl Cole will be speaking with members of the Brigade Reconnaissance Force, spending time with military dog handlers and meeting some of the soldiers, sailors and pilots who have been wounded in action.
