Bangladesh teacher arrested in possession of banned book

Cheap calls to Bangladesh look likely after a head teacher was arrested for possessing a banned book.
Yunus Ali was arrested at the KC Technical and Business Management College in the district of Pirojpur after a book regarded as blasphemous by many Muslims was found on the premises.
Taslima Nasreen's novel Lajja, which translates as Shame, was spotted in the college library, police inspector Abdul Malek told AFP.
"Lajha is a banned book, still, the principal had it in the college library," he claimed, before adding that Ali faced a possible three-year jail sentence for keeping it.
The novel was banned a year after publication in 1993 after it was deemed to contain "inflammatory statements".
It follows the story of a Hindu family who are persecuted by Muslims while living in Bangladesh.
The book's author Nasreen was forced to flee the country after a public outcry which saw her hounded by death threats from Islamic extremists.
