Ghana CSR to be recognised with e.TV award ceremony

Corporate social responsibility (CSR) schemes in Ghana no doubt already prompt cheap international calls between affected parties, but now companies are set to be recognised on television for their efforts.
e.TV Ghana, the country's free-to-air TV station, is set to reward companies as part of its new National CSR Awards, recognising outstanding leadership and commitment to sustainability.
Speaking to the braodcaster, Global Media Alliance Broadcasting managing director Akwasi Agyeman explained: "CSR is no longer a nice thing to do, but a business imperative.
"We want to draw attention to the need for companies to make Social Responsibility part of the work culture."
Recent research published in the Interdisciplinary Environmental Review suggested that employees are more likely to be satisfied in their jobs if their employer is perceived as a sustainable and 'green' company.
This was contrasted against company financial performance, which was found not to correlate with employee happiness.
