Nigeria fines John Mikel Obi for lateness

Nigeria midfielder John Mikel Obi has been fined for arriving late for an international Africa Cup of Nations tie against Guinea on Saturday.
The player has been punished with a $5,000 (£3,241) fine for missing the Tuesday deadline for the camp in Abuja.
Mikel arrived the next day and claimed that he was late due to a family matter.
Super Eagles spokesman Colin Udoh told BBC Sport: "The deadline given to all the players to arrive in camp was lunchtime on Tuesday but officials were not satisfied with the reasons for his absence.
"Should Mikel prove his fitness, he will be in contention for selection on Saturday," he explained.
The Chelsea player has a history of falling out with the Nigerian coach Samson Siasia, who has come down hard on team discipline since he landed the role.
