Saudi Arabia enforces female only lingerie staff law

Saudi Arabia looks likely to be the subject of cheap international calls after officials revealed that a law had been passed declaring that only females can work in women's lingerie and apparel stores.
In 2006 a law banning men from working in female clothing and cosmetic stores was passed, however it was never enforced.
The government has decided to impose the law this week after a number of lingerie stores were boycotted by Saudi women who tired of having to deal with male members of staff.
In a recent sermon the country's most senior cleric, Sheik Abdul-Aziz Al Sheikh spoke out against the decision and claimed that it contradicts Islamic law.
He said: "A woman standing face-to-face with a man and selling to him without modesty or shame can lead to wrongdoing."
